Dogs for adoption

Roy

This is Roy; a gorgeous German Shepherd brought in by his owner after being hit by a car. He has seriously suffered from the hit and is now paralyzed from the waist down, due to a shattered backbone.
He is slowly regaining his strength and mobility back, particularly after inheriting Butch's wheel chair. Butch was a beloved dog with needs at the shelter, who sadly passed away about a year ago.
Roy is a bouncing bundle of joy and certainly won't let this handicap deter him. We are doing everything we can to rehabilitate him and hopefuly find a new loving home that will be able to attend to his needs. He needs all the love he can get!
Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt Roy.

Konafa

Hey there! My name is Konafa. I was named after a deliciously sweet delicacy here in Egypt called Konafa because of how cute I am!
Well the story of how I got to SPARE was not so "cute" I suppose. I was a victim of a near drowning at a canal, by a bunch of children. You would think that children would be the picture of innocence, but not those kids! They think it's fun to watch a helpless animal suffer.
Luckily I was saved in due time...if the SPARE people would have arrived moments later, I would not be here on this earth! Phew!
I'm cute and sassy and I would be the best thing in your life, if you would just adopt me.
Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt Konafa.

Kobeiba

Hi there, I'm Kobeiba. I'm quite the story! I once had a mom and brothers and sisters who took care of me. It was a loving environment, but that was taken away from me so quickly when some kids snatched me away from my pack. It was petrified about what they'd do to me.

They then decided it would be a fun game to watch me drown in a canal; my mom had warned my brothers and I that there had been terrible stories of little pups drowned by some vicious children. It's a cruel game and someone needs to stop them!
Anyways, I got lucky and a precious woman called Madame May saved me in the nick of time, and took me to this wonderful place called SPARE.
I'm getting over my ordeal and I still miss my mother terribly, but being at the shelter is helping me get through this tough time. I get to eat 6 or 7 meals a day and have made lots of friends with some kittens! One day I hope I can have a family of my own....would you be the one?
Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt Kobeiba.

The Story of Kooky

Please be warned, the pictures are very
graphic.

SPARE is determined to uncover the sordid truth behind uncertified breeders in Egypt. Stories and pictures of unfathomable torture and abuse to dogs have been brought to light; our most recent case of such horrors is Kooky.

Kooky was brought to SPARE by Sahar (a good samaritan and
animal lover) with horrific wounds around her neck as a result of being so tightly chained for over a year the chain was deeply embedded in her flesh!SPARE's miracle vets operated on Kooky for over an hour and after months of healing and care, Kooky has come around and bounced back to life. What continues to amaze us is that even though Kooky has endured unspeakable treatment by the hands of a cruel human, she is still able to forgive and display affection and love to other humans.

Breeding is a seedy operation where hundreds of animals continue to suffer at this moment...please think TWICE beore you buy animals from a pet store or from one of those breeders; they run their evil puppy mill operations and profit greatly from the suffering of animals.
Kooky deserves buckets of love, especially after her awful experience. If you would like to give her another chance in a brighter life, please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org

The pictures speak for themselves.

Oreo

Hi,
I'm Oreo. As you can see I'm a dalmation. Most people find dalmations a
breed to be spoiled and pampered, but not me I'm afraid.
I
once
had a home and an owner, but my so called owner dumped me in the middle
of the night at the SPARE shelter for reasons that I am completely
unaware of. I guess he was feeling bored and didn't love me
anymore.
I'm
glad I left his evil clutches as he hardly ever fed me. Did he forget
to feed me? I have no idea because he never forgot to feed
himself!
I
was skin and bones when I first arrived at SPARE, but with healthy
doses of food everyday, I'm slowly fattening up and gaining all my
energy back. The people at SPARE are absolutely wonderful, but I would
love to get a real loving home. I'm super smart and very loyal, will
you be the one to give me another chance?
Please email Amina
Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt
Oreo.

Puppies!

SPARE
has lots of sweet puppies rescued from the unforgiving streets of
cairo. Just take a look at those pictures. Those puppies deserve a
loving home and you might be one to give them a chance at a new life!
If you are interested in adopting one of them please email Amina Abaza:

Badger

Hi, I'm Badger...I'm a sweet boy...neutered and microchipped and ready
for adoption!
I am quite the character here at the shelter...I have a pretty special
bond with one of the volunteers who work there. She's just my buddy!
Everytime I see her, I open the shelter's metal fence door so I can see
her. People find that very amusing because I'm the only dog around the
shelter that can do that! So how's that for character eh? I'm also a
bit of a smary alec and very curious about everything around me.
Things I like to do include sitting under desks and chewing toys. I
also looove getting attention all the time. I'm considered a bit of a
dominant character, I can't help it! I just love being the man of the
house so I do have a tendency to get jealous of other male dogs. I'll
be your best bud for life, will you adopt me?
Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt Badger.

Hansel & Gretel

Hi, we're Hansel & Gretel...we were given these unique names
because of how we were found. We don't really remember much of our
previous life, but it was pretty miserable. One day our "owner" decided
they had had enough of us, and wanted to get rid of us. So, they
wrapped a thick chain around our necks and tied us around a pole in the
middle of the street! Just like that!! We really didn't know what we
did to deserve such terrible abandonment.
It was pretty miserable, because we were tied to the pole so tightly
and just couldn't breathe! There was no water or food in sight and it
was also cold and lonely. We were starting to get really scared.
Finally, we saw a pretty young American lady pass by and take interest
in us, we started to cry for her help, but she seemed like she was in a
hurry or something and walked on. "Oh well" we thought "humans are so
cruel".
Many hours went by, and it was getting colder and darker, and the same
lady that passed us up, returned and decided to take us out of our
misery.
She was so sweet and loving...we were just so grateful!!
Sarah Sensamaust (our amazing saviour) took a cab all the way to
Sakkara to Amina's animal haven (SPARE) so we were properly taken care
of. We are eternally grateful to Sarah, God knows what would have
happened to us tied to that pole! But that's all behind us now and we
are hoping to find a new life...will you adopt us and give us another
chance?
Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt Hansel and Gretel.

Sakkara Puppies!!

SPARE is sheltering a litter of
puppies who
were brought in by an archaeologist recently. Their mother was killed
on the Sakkara plateau and the animal loving archaeologist took them in
and fed them for the duration of her stay in Egypt. After a tearful
goodbye, the archaeologist had to part with the litter to go back to
her country and dropped them off at SPARE hoping they will find loving
homes..So meet Neroze, Nenoir and Maboule! Please email Amina Abaza:
amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt anyone of these precious pups.

Puppies saved from Drowning!

SPARE has seen a
terrible
phenomenon exhibited by young children who find it amusing to drown
tiny puppies and kittens. A vicious and cruel game that some children
like to play. Luckily SPARE has been able to arrive at the nick of time
to save some of these animals including this litter that was found at a
canal last month on the verge of drowning!
These puppies deserve another chance at life, will you be the one to
give that to them? Please email Amina Abaza: amina@sparealife.org if
you would like to adopt anyone of these precious pups. Meet Tuba,
Rintintin, Lassie & Rudy!
